About Routines

We build Routines, and we use it ourselves.

Routines is made by BinarCode, a team of about 30 engineers, designers and product people in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. We have built software for other companies since 2018. Routines is our own product.

Our story

From client work to our own product.

Two developers and one Vue.js project.
BinarCode started in 2018 with two developers, one Vue.js project and a decision to bet on quality over scale. Most of our clients still find us through referrals.
A team of about 30, close to the work.
Today we are 30+ engineers, designers and product people. We build full stack, from backend and frontend to mobile, AI agents and MCP servers, for companies in North America, Europe and the Middle East.
Tools we needed, then products.
Along the way we released Laravel Restify as open source and built Growee, an HR and company management platform, end to end. Turning our best work into products is where we are heading.
Then we built the assistant we wanted.
Routines is our own product. We built every layer, from the Tauri desktop app with a Rust core to the Laravel platform behind getroutines.ai.

Why we built Routines

The assistant lived in a browser tab. Our work did not.

For two years the promise of a personal AI assistant felt slightly off to us. The models were good, but the assistant lived in a browser tab, far away from the actual work. It did not remember anything between chats, and it could not do something on a schedule without someone babysitting it.

So we built Routines.

What surprised us most was not the technology. It was who ended up using it. We assumed a Mac app full of automations would be a toy for engineers. Instead our designers, our project managers and our sales people reached for it more than the developers did.

We build Routines the way we build for our clients: like co-founders, not contractors. We would rather have an honest conversation than ship something we are not proud of.
