Recording happens on your Mac
Audio is captured locally from your microphone and system output, transcribed on your machine, and saved to a local database. Your meeting audio does not get uploaded to a transcription service you have never heard of.

Does a bot join my meeting to take notes?
No. Routines never joins your call as a participant. It records audio locally on your Mac, so attendees see no note-taker, no banner, and no extra logo in the grid.
Where does the recording and transcription happen?
On your machine. Audio is captured from your mic and system output and transcribed locally, then the transcript and AI summary are stored in a local database. Your raw meeting audio is not shipped off to a third-party service.
Will the other people on the call know I am recording?
Nothing joins the call on your behalf, so there is no automatic indicator on their end. As with any recording, follow your local laws and your own judgment about telling participants.
Can I send the notes to my team afterward?
Yes. After the meeting you can ask Routines to post the summary and action items to Slack, email, or your other connectors. The notes stay local until you choose to share them.
