Recording happens on your Mac
Audio is captured locally from your microphone and system output, then sent to Deepgram for transcription with model training switched off. The transcript and the notes are saved to a local database on your Mac. We name the transcription service instead of leaving you to guess.

Attendees see nothing
Because nothing joins the call, the people you meet with have no indication anything is recording on your end. The notes are for you. What you share afterward is entirely your choice.

Does a bot join my meeting to take notes?
No. Routines never joins your call as a participant. It records audio locally on your Mac, so attendees see no note-taker, no banner, and no extra logo in the grid.
Where does the recording and transcription happen?
Recording happens on your Mac, from your mic and system output, with nothing joining the call. The transcription itself happens at Deepgram: the audio streams there with model training switched off, on the key we manage if you are on Pro or in the free trial, and on your own Deepgram key on the Free plan. The transcript and AI summary are then stored in a local database on your Mac.
Will the other people on the call know I am recording?
Nothing joins the call on your behalf, so there is no automatic indicator on their end. As with any recording, follow your local laws and your own judgment about telling participants.
Can I send the notes to my team afterward?
Yes. After the meeting you can ask Routines to post the summary and action items to Slack, email, or your other connectors. The notes stay local until you choose to share them.
